Cell phone effects on Paranormal Data Collection ('PDC')

I. Objective
This experiment is to determine the effect of cell phone usage on Paranormal Data Collection ('PDC'). Does having your cell phone on or in use while engaging in PDC effect the results? If so, can a standard be set to identify corrupted data? If no, then should Paranormal Investigation Groups ('PIGs') keep their phones on for emergency uses?

This experiment is very interesting!....and right up my alley too. Cell phones are an interesting animal! they can start transmitting signals without any operator input whatsoever. They are always listening to the cellular radio towers, and occasionally talking back to them....even if you're not on a phone call. I've often wondered how many times someones cell phone has set off something like a K2 meter, or interfered with whatever electronic device they happened to be carrying at that time.
An interesting story I have on Cell phone interference is a time when I was working in a 911 center, and was sitting on the floor under a telephone console on a 911 panel that had about 5 lines for 911, and about 15 other random telephone lines on it.
Well, as I was working on part of the console, my cell phone started talking to the cell tower and it scrambled the processor in this phone console to the point where ALL of the phone lines on this console......even the 5-911 lines ALL started ringing at the same time.

A neat way to hear your cell phone talking to the cell tower is to leave it turned on, and set it as close as you can to your computer speakers (preferrably speakers with a power switch on them, as they also have an audio amplifier built in them which makes the interference more obvious).
Some times, as the phone sits there, or receives a call, you might hear this "galloping" sound from the speakers. this galloping sound is the signal from your phone to the cell tower......and it can mess with electronic devices and audio amplifiers pretty well.
With modern cell phones you will NOT hear any voice audio in the interfering signal (a cell phone conversation will not bleed over onto an audio recorder and provide a false EVP). All voice audio from a cell phone is converted to a Digital signal (the galloping sound) and is sent over the air in that form.
Cell phones also have a mode called AIRPLANE mode. This mode turns off the TRANSMITTERS and RECEIVERS in a cell phone, but still allow the phone to be turned on (to play games, or music, etc)......but it will not send or receive phone calls of text messages in any way until it is taken out of airplane mode.

The only radio signals I could even possibly see interfering with recording devices are those that use an amplitude modulated signal, such as being VERY close to an AM broadcast tower, a CB radio, or shortwave radio transmitter, such as HAM radio. Those type of transmitters also have a unique quality to them when interfering with something like a house stereo, or amplified speaker system.......a quality I've not hear duplicated in many EVP recordings. In fact, of all the EVP's I've ever heard, not a single one so far has had any "radio interference" quality to it.

this has been my 2 cents..........and I hope this experiment gives some cool results!!!! This one has me all excited!
